Bergstrom Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir 2015

Bergstrom Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir 2015

This beautiful Pinot is earthy, spicy and lean, with lovely, lithe tannins, all of which make it dreamy with food. Were certainly not surprised, as itcomes from some of our favorite Pinot terroir in the world. Dive into your first glasses and tuck into sweet sausage, onion and pepper sliders. The combinationis perfect. Bring out the dark fruits of this Bergstrom with crisp-skinned duck confit legs and a cherry-orange compote. Be sure to grind lots of blackpepper over the duck before roasting it in the oven; it will just pair more magically with the wine. For a classic combination, try oven-baked salmon filetswith a shallot, parsley, basil and pecan crust. And for the earthy side of this Gregory Ranch, make it steaming bowls of linguine tossed with a wild mushroomsauce. Freshly grated, good quality Parmesan is a must with this dish. Any questions?

Antonio Gallonis Vinous: "Brilliant red. Vibrant, mineral-accented red fruit, floral pastille, blood orange and incense aromas showexcellent clarity and pick up a hint of smokiness with air. Shows superb delineation and lift on the palate, offering appealingly sweet raspberry and cherrypreserve, allspice and cinnamon flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Delivers a suave blend of power and finesse and finishes very long and silky, with subtle tannins sneaking in late. Drinking window: 2020-2027." Jan 2018Robert Parker, Jr.s Wine Advocate: "Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch Vineyard delivers expressiveblack raspberry, black cherry and warm red currant notes with hints of Sichuan pepper, bay leaves and anise plus a waft of chargrill. Medium-bodied andsolidly constructed in the mouth, it has a solid backbone of chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy. Drink date: 2017-2023."Aug 2017Decanter:From a cooler, higher elevation site within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, the Gregory Ranch is more reserved and brooding thanthe Shea Vineyard bottling, revealing notes of wild berries and aromatic wood, followed by a deep, tensile wine with a firm chassis of fine-grained tannin.Planted in 2007, but already producing serious wine. Drinking Window 2018 - 2028"Winery: "Black cherry in color, this wine has very complex, dark aromas of chocolate, coffee, ripe juicy blackberries, plums, and red roses. There is a soil character, like loamy mushrooms, that adds a dark savory character to this wine. The mouth is rich and savory with a strong floral expression and also cassis. This is a large-scaled effort with a cool vibrancy to it that keeps it balanced and delicious with a sweet core of fruit. This is a rich and expansive wine that is mouth-coating and full-bodied, but the good level of natural acidity keep this wine juicy and youthful.Drink now through 2023" Bottle: 750ml, cork Varietal: 100 percent Pinot Noir Alcohol percent: 13.2 percent Region: Yamhill-Carlton, Oregon Production: Limited at 500 dozen
